2 Pack ReUsable Divided Plates Made from Corn    2 Pack ReUsable Bowls Made from Corn

With two and a half year old twins and a 19 month old we are right in the thick of the oh-so messyadorable phase where they are learning to feed themselves. Everything from drinks, to cereal, to cheese burgers ends up smeared head to toe and floor to ceiling because any offer of help from mom or dad is seen as the ultimate insult:

“I can do it all by myself.”

Since we started down this road to independence I have been on the lookout for cups, plates, bowls and silverware that were cute, functional and safe for my crazy crew. No BPA, of course, and something to cut down on the mess potential is always greatly appreciated.

So you can imagine my glee when Dandelion for Baby offered to let me review their corn bowls and plates.

Wait.

Corn?!

Yep. And we LOVE them. Not only are the lightweight (so the kids can carry their own plates to the table) but they are about as green as you can get.

Check out this info straight from their site:

Corn, really?

Really! We use a unique corn (PLA) formula. Unlike conventional plastic, which is largely made from petroleum, our bioplastic is primarily made from corn! Polylactic acid (PLA) requires significantly less fossil resources, and generates far fewer green house gases than conventional plastic. And corn is a renewable and sustainable resource.

My one and only concern with this product is that is says to “hand wash only”. Of course, me being…well…me, I had to test this theory and I did put mine on the top rack of the dishwasher. They were 100% fine – however – I DO NOT have a dishwasher with a sanitation cycle (where it gets extremely hot).

When the box with the plates and bowls for me to review arrived there was an extra surprise inside:

Organic Turtle

Lennon snatched up this little cutie before I could even get it out of the box and it has been living in her bed ever since. Isn’t it adorable!?
